| The Lost Wedding Ring! |

True story...
The other night I was walking out to our car after having had a nice dinner with my wife and kids.
As I swung my left hand down to open the car door, my gold wedding ring flew off my ring finger. It was a little loose because of the cold winter weather. I didn't hear it hit the ground, and realized it must have fallen into the snow bank at the edge of the parking lot. "Oh no!"
Regardless, I figured I'd have no problem finding it. My wife turned on the car lights and pointed the car towards the spot where the ring fell. Yet after about 15 minutes of searching up and down, even digging in the snow bank with the help of my wife and kids, we came up short.
We decided we'd come back the next day, during daylight. So after lunch we all headed out to do some more searching. We searched high and low, covering every possible area where the ring could have fallen. But still no ring! I said to my wife, "It's like it totally disappeared!"
We had all been praying that we'd find the ring, but it just wasn't happenin'. My wife and kids went back to our car after giving up their search.
I said one final prayer, "Lord, I know you care about the smallest details, even a lost wedding ring!" And then, half to myself and half to the Lord I finished, "I'll take one last quick walk along the snowbank, and then call it quits."
After that final prayer, I took no more than three or four steps along the bank, over a snowy, slush covered area of parking lot that I'd already searched dozens of times...
To my amazement, I kicked up an ice-encrusted (almost camoflauged) gold ring - my wedding ring! Back in the car, my wife and kids were equally thrilled and amazed that God had led
me to the ring on my decided very last attempt!
It was a truly a great example of how God indeed DOES care about even the smallest of details in our lives! |
